Duct Accessory types

The Duct Accessory group comprises various fittings used in connecting HVAC segments of a route.

Types of Fittings

The below list of fittings illustrates the tool icon along with the <schema name> <item name> used in above key in syntax, and the description of the fitting.

Rectangular - Duct Fittings
AngleThroatTee Default ` Angle Throat Tee — An angle throat tee advantages branching out flow in a desired angle in ductwork.
DropCheekCross Default ` Drop Cheek Cross — A cross fitting that moves in both the horizontal and vertical planes at the same time.

SquareThroatTee "Default" Square Throat Tee — A square throat tee advantages branching out flow in a desired angle in rectangular ductwork.
RectAdapter Default Rectangular Adapter — Used to line up with the duct extension.
RectangularCap Default Rectangular Cap — Cap can have a handle when the Cap Type property is set to 1.
RectangularElbow DefaultRect Rectangular Elbow — Rectangular Elbow Radius elbow that connects two rectangular ducts in a given angle. The auto-fitting option connects the ducts when the run is deviated in an angle. The custom defined vanes inside the elbow controls the air flow.
RectangularElbow Mitered Rectangular Elbow Mitered — Joining of two equal duct segments in an angle forms a mitered elbow. A true miter bend is a 90 degree bend made by cutting two pieces at 45° and joining together.
RectangularElbow RadiusThroatSquareHeel Radius Throat Square Heel Elbow — Square heel elbows with radius throat fittings are best suited in rectangle turns.

Use of square throat elbows and tees in ductwork promote a more uniform airflow and reduced turbulence, when associated with turning vanes . The square throat tee eases branching out flow in a desired angle in rectangular duct routing.

RectangularTee Default Rectangular Tee — Rectangular duct splitter tee to connect a main duct with two branches of duct in angle.
RadiusThroatCross "Radius Throat Cross" Radius Throat Cross — A radius throat cross fitting facilitates connecting two straight ducts at their intersection keeping the dusts in same plane. The radius at each branch controls the angular displacement of the cross ends.
RadiusThroatSquareHeelCross Default ` Radius Throat Square Heel Cross — Square heel cross with radius throat fittings are effective air resistance.
SquareThroatCross "Square Throat Cross" Square Throat Cross — A square throat cross fitting facilitates connecting two straight ducts at their intersection keeping the duct segments in same plane. In place of ducts, the ends may have one or more terminal equipments connected in the route.
SquareHeelWye Default ` Square Heel Wye — A rectangular wye that connects the main duct segment with two branches iof route for controlling directional flow without loss.
RectangularTransition "Centric Reducer" Rectangular Transition — Allows for a change in duct size to meet air flow requirements of the system, or to adapt to existing duct of a different size.
RectangularWye Default Rectangular Wye — A rectangular fitting that connects the main segment duct with two branches of rectangular ducts. Either or both the branch angles can be set to 90° or less. The radius of branches manage the curved segments.
RectBreech Breech Rectangular Breech — A 3 way rectangular fitting that connects the main segment duct with two branches of rectangular ducts. Either or both the branch angles can be set to 90 degrees or less.
RectCoupling Default Rectangular Coupling — Couples up two straight ducts. Economical over elbow
RectFlexConnection Default Rectangular Flex Connection — This component acts as a vibration isolation fitting.
RectNestedTee "Rectangular Nested Tee" Nested Fitting (Tee)— A nested tee fitting provides connecting capability of connecting a duct to multiple rectangular branches and terminal equipments. A two piece branch fitting is commonly used in the industry.
RectNestedCross "Rectangular Nested Cross" Nested Fitting (Cross) — A nested cross fitting provides connecting capability of branching a duct to multiple branches to connect rectangular branches and terminal equipments.
SideBranch "Rectangular Side Branch" Rectangular Side Branch — Rectangular duct side branch fitting provided with an end connection to connect duct segment branched out in an angle.
ThreeWayTee "Three Way Tee" Rectangular Cross — A three way tee fitting that incorporates a straight reducer and two side angular branches to connect rectangular duct segments.
RectRndTransition RectToRnd Transition Rectangular To Round — Allows connecting a rectangular duct to a round duct in the straight path of duct flow.
RectangularTakeoff Angled Rectangular Angled Takeoff — Angled takeoff routes can be connected with fitting having rectangular inlets.
RectangularTakeoffRadius "Radius 1" Rectangular Takeoff Radius 1 — The angular curvature of the side of the branch is controlled with the value of primary radius.
RectangularTakeoffRadius "Radius 2" Rectangular Takeoff Radius 2 — Additionally, the secondary radius defines the curvature of another side of the branch.
RectangularTakeoffRadius "Radius 3" Rectangular Takeoff Radius 3 — Both radius values define the curvature of sides of branch.
RectOgee Ogee Rectangular Ogee — Ogee provides a way to connect offset duct routes. This fitting is not catalog driven as these types of offsets usually require a fabricated piece.
RectOvalTap "Oval Tap" Oval Tap On Rectangular Duct — Used for transition from rectangular duct to oval pipe or insulated flexible duct. Adjustable inclined angle. Forms a transition from rectangular to oval branch duct.
RectOvalTransition RectToOval Transition Rectangular To Oval — Allows connecting a rectangular duct to an oval ductwork or stack .
RectOvlTakeoff RectToOvl Takeoff Rectangular To Oval — Useful where small portion of the flow needs to be diverted in the oval branch duct.
RectRectTap "Rect Tap" Rectangular Tap — The outlet of the tap connects to the rectangular branch duct for down streaming of the air.
RectRndTakeoff RectToRnd Takeoff Rectangular To Round — Allows fitting to be mounted to Rectangular duct with improved air flow. Used for transition from air plenums or rectangular duct to round pipe or insulated duct.
RectRoundTap "Round Tap" Round Tap On Rectangular Duct — Used for transition from rectangular duct to round pipe or insulated flexible duct. Adjustable inclined angle. Useful when branch ducts are to be located within a joist space.
Trouser Trouser Rectangular Trouser — The trouser fitting branches out two end segments spaced apart with an offset value. Each straight branch used to connects to a rectangular duct.
TapableEndCapRectangular Default Tappable End Cap Rectangular — A tappable end cap fitting that allows to connect the rectangular shape connection after the end cap.
TapableEndCapRectToRound Default Tappable End Cap Rectangular to Round — A tappable end cap fitting that allows to connect the round shape connection after the end cap.

RectangularZElbow Default Rectangular Z Elbow — A Z-Shaped elbow used in Duct Sizing (ASHRAE fitting number CR3-17)
CompoundOffsetElbow Default Rectangular Offset Elbow — A combined 90° Elbows Lying in Different Planes (ASHRAE fitting number CR3-18)
VariableAngleWye Default ` Variable Angle Wye — A fitting with flexibility of setting varying angle at both top and bottom branch of wye.

BMV_RectangularFlatAccessDoor "Flat Panel" Default Access Door - Flat Panel — The moderate sheet thickness panel fits on a surface of rectangular duct. The door can be set hinged or with cam.

"Radius Pressure Relief" Default Access Door - Radius Pressure Relief — Pressure relief access doors are designed for use in low to medium pressure duct systems. They provide a means of gaining access to damper components inside the ductwork. Assures a tight seal without obstruction in the air system.

RndRectTakeoff RndToRect Takeoff Round To Rectangular — Rectangular takeoff branching straight on the wall of round duct, used to connect fittings in the air handling system.
RndTakeoff Conical Round Conical Takeoff — Round conical outlet branched out perpendicular to the wall of round duct. The outlet diameter determines the reducing effect in the conical branch, thereby maintain the flow of different pressure conditions. Suitable for connecting HVAC equipments, like VAV in the round and rectangular duct routes.
RndTakeoff Default Round Takeoff — Round takeoff branching straight on the wall of round duct.
SaddleTap Tap Saddle Tap/TakeOff — Saddle Take Off useful for remodeling. Used for starting branch duct runs from round pipe trunk or branch lines in HVAC air duct systems.
SaddleCross "Saddle Cross" Saddle Cross — A 4-way fittings having saddle reducer branches used to interconnect pipes and fittings.
SaddleTee "Saddle Tee" Saddle Tee — A snap tee, used to quickly add on existing duct to connect a branched outlet.
SegmentedBend "Segmented Bend" Segmented Bend — Segmented elbows provide more flexibility when routing round duct systems.
SegmentedBend2 "Segmented Bend End Segment" Segmented Bend End Segment — Placing Segmented Bend End Segment elbows with an offset between its outlets eliminates the need to use a combination of fittings when routing through tight spaces. Segmented Bend End Segment elbow connects two offset ducts. For example, set the value of "Offset" property to alter elbow's second outlet is offset accordingly.
RoundAdapter Default Round Adapter — Used to extend ductwork by connecting round ducts in a line.
RoundBreech "Round Breech" Round Breech — A 3 way round breech connects the main segment duct with two branches of round ducts in the angle 90° or less.
RoundCap Default Round Cap — Cap fitting used to cover up the duct terminal. It can have a handle when the Cap Type property is set to 1.
RoundCoupling Default Round Coupling — Coupling connects two round ducts laid in a straight line. Advantageous over elbows.
RoundElbow DefaultRound Round Elbow — A radius elbow for connecting round ducts in an angle. Suitable in installation of duct-out hoods.
RoundElbowMitre "Mitre Elbow" Round Elbow Mitre — Curved elbow formed by connecting separate sections called gores formed by defining the Number of Mitres property that in turn controls angle of each segment.
RoundFlexConnection Default Round Flex Connection — This component acts as a vibration isolation fitting.
RoundReducerCross ReducerCross Round Reducer Cross — Cross reducer fitting with smaller outlet diameter and two side branches inclined as per values set to cone angle.
RoundThreeWay "Three Way" Round Three Way Wye — A round fitting with one inlet and two branch outlets of uniform size placed at default 45° to inlet. Though, the angles can be manipulated per requirement of flow.
RoundTransition "Centric Reducer" Round Transition — Round transition allows connecting a round duct run to another duct of different diameter.
RoundTrouser "Round Trouser" Round Trouser — Round trouser fitting branch out two end segments spaced apart with an offset value. Each end is used to connect to round duct .
RoundWye "Round Wye" Round Wye — These "Y" shaped ducting components transition from one round duct into two round ducts.
RoundOvalTap "Oval Tap" Oval Tap on Round Duct — Oval tap outlet branched out in an inclined angle on the wall of round duct.
RoundRectTap "Rect Tap" Rectangular Tap on Round Duct — Rectangular takeoff branching out in an inclined angle on the wall of round duct.
RoundRoundTap "Round Tap" Round Tap — Round tap outlet branched out in an inclined angle on the wall of round duct.
RoundTee RoundTee Round Tee — Tee branches out an end connection to connect to a round duct.
RoundCross RoundCross Round Cross — A 4-way fittings having one inlet and three outlets, and the branch line passes completely through a tee. The angle values set branch inclination.
RoundOffset Default Round Offset — The round offset allows connecting two parallel ducts or duct and duct fittings in a large ductwork and routes. The round offset adds duct transition and aids in connecting two parallel ducts or duct and duct fittings with a desired rise value set.
ConicalTee "Conical Tee" Conical Tee — Reducing airflow tee fitting in round ductwork.
CrossOver Default Crossover — Universal crossover pipe fitting with a smooth bend to cross over a duct line.
CrossOverCloseRough CloseRough Crossover Close Rough — Rough crossovers ideal to route around rectangular ducts.
